What is the Transportation TST/SAC Committee?
The City Council appointed the Transportation Topic Specific Team (TST) and Stakeholder Advisory Committee (SAC) to provide recommendations regarding the transportation system plan and Highway 212 Corridor study. The TST/SAC will be working with the consultants, city staff, community members and the city council. Members include Don Glantz, Kitty O’Meara, Karl Wescott, Shirley Speidell, Eric Sorensen, Greg DeGrazia, John Ferguson, Teri Dillard, John Croslin, Dave Guettler and Tom Mack.



What is the Natural Features Phase II TST?
The Natural Features Phase II TST (Topic Specific Team) is an advisory committee to the City Council.  Their role is to examine specific topics in greater depth.  Their role is more analytical and technical, designed to help give wise direction to the city.  This TST will focus on developing a program for balancing development and conservation of natural features in Damascus.

The mayor has appointed the following members to the Natural Features Phase II TST:  Bruce Adams, Diana Bradshaw, John Ferguson, Greg Jordan, and Keith Marshall. 

The Natural Features II TST is working on the second phase of the Natural Features project.  The Economic, Social, Environmental and Energy (ESEE) analysis is the crucial step in weighing the relative importance of these four factors against each other to derive a recommendation to allow, limit, or prohibit activities in the City's significant natural resource sites.  The ESEE is the second step in the City's Goal 5 program, which includes an inventory of significant wetlands, riparian corridors and wildlife habitat areas.  The TST will be working with City staff to complete the ESEE analysis by early 2009.  Following the completion of the ESEE analysis, a Natural Resources Management Program to implement the findings of the ESEE analysis will be prepared.  Once the analysis is completed an open house will be planned to seek public input. 




What is the Development Code TST?
The Development Code TST (Topic Specific Team) is an advisory committee to the City Council.  Their role is to examine specific topics related to the development code and make recommendations to City Council based on their findings.  This TST will focus on producing a development code for Damascus.

The Mayor, on advice from City Council, has appointed the following members to the Development Code TST:  Ernie Platt, Wendall Jones, David Bantz, Harvey Cummings, Larry Thompson and Roger Miracle.




What is the Committee for Citizen Involvement (CCI)?
The Committee for Citizen Involvement (CCI) is an advisory body to the City of Damascus staff and Council regarding recommendations for implementing the City’s citizen involvement program. The overall mission of the CCI is to be a liaison between the citizens of Damascus and its governing body: the Damascus City Council. 

The Committee for Citizen Involvement adopted their operational protocol at the September 3, 2008, CCI meeting. Council established the Committee for Citizen Involvement (CCI) and adopted the Implementation Plan for said committee at the March 3, 2008, Council meeting.  City Councilor Randy Shannon serves as the Council liaison, and Public Involvement Coordinator Tammie Milkes provides staff support to this committee.
 

 




What is the Budget Committee?
The Budget Committee consists of seven appointed community members, the Mayor and six councilors.  Their mission is to assist in the city's budgeting process by helping ensure sound fiscal practices.  They approve the budget and establish the amount of property taxes for the upcoming fiscal year.  The budget is then forwarded to the City Council for adoption.

Current appointed members include:  Tim Giorgi, Kathy Ruthruff, John Fromwiller, Jim Syring, Mary Wescott, Luanna Klaus and Diane Mayzak.
